Day 1

Welcome to Scotland

Welcome to Edinburgh Airport. Meet you guide and head into the capital of Scotland. The best way to get to know this city is on foot, so get ready to head out on your walking tour. A visit to a local Kilt Maker will give you a deeper understanding of the rich cultural history of this country. End the first day with a group dinner.

Day 2

Edinburgh

Today you will see the royal side of Edinburgh. After breakfast head down to the lovely waters of Leith to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia. After seeing the floating palace head towards one of Edinburgh's most famous residences, Palace of Holyroodhouse. The official Scottish residence of the king is sure to impress.

Day 3

St Andrews to Aberdeen

Head for the wild Dartmoor National Park marked with rocky outcrops, herds of native wild Dartmoor ponies and expansive moorland. Explore the villages, their thatched cottages and cosy tea rooms. Try Devon Cream Tea. Visit one of Cornwall’s famous gardens – Eden Project or Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Day 4

Highland Cows & Whisky

The day starts with a highlight of the trip–a visit to see our friend Grace at the highland cattle farm. You'll get an up close and personal look at one of the most iconic animals here in Scotland. Cairngorm National Park is next and its majestic landscapes will leave you breathless. End the day the Scottish way with a dram of whisky while visiting one of the many iconic distilleries on the island.

Day 5

Dunrobin Castle & Loch Ness

From Loch Ness to Dunrobin Castle, you will see some of the highlights of the Highlands today. The view of Urquhart Castle from Loch Ness on the boat cruise will give you an a photo worthy moment for sure. Afterwards, wander your way through the impressive 13th century castle and the equally impressive gardens.

Day 6

Culloden & Stirling Castle

Round out your Scottish history by visiting the Battlefield of Culloden found just outside of Inverness. This vital part of the country's history comes to life as you wander the windswept moorland. As you head back down south enjoy Stirling Castle, a favourite residence of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Day 7

Glasgow

Wake up in the music and art capital of Scotland. Glasgow is a city worth exploring and today you will do just that. Starting with the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis you will learn the rich culture found in this city. From Victorian architecture to new Modern design, this city is a hybrid of old and new unlike anywhere else. Enjoy the final night with a farewell dinner in the city.

Travel Home

Travel back to Edinburgh in the morning to begin your journey home.

Day 1

Welcome to Dublin

Arrive at Dublin Airport. Make your way independently to your hotel (transfers or full day touring can be arranged according to the group’s flight arrangement). Continue to your hotel and check in. Enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel.

Day 2

Dublin to Kerry via Blarney Castle

After your included breakfast, meet with your coach & English speaking driver/guide & depart Ireland’s Capital traveling to County Kerry. En route, stop in the town of Blarney to visit Blarney Castle. Here you will find the legendary Stone of Eloquence. Kiss it & you’ll never again be lost for words.
 
Enjoy some time for shopping at Blarney Woollen Mills. The presence of the Woollen Mills during the famine shielded Blarney from the worst effects of the famine, due to its employment of local workers. In 1976 Chris Kelleher, himself a mill worker, bought the old mill property. Within a short period of time Chris & his family transformed the mill into what is perhaps the largest quality craft shop in Ireland.

Day 3

Ring of Kerry

After your breakfast we depart for a full day enjoying the superb Iveragh Peninsula – giving you the opportunity to discover the Ring of Kerry. Taking in spectacular scenery such as mountains, peat, bogs, lakes and magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. Leaving Killarney pass through Killorglin, famous for its Puck Fair, then to Glenbeigh where the cliff road affords panoramic views of the Dingle Peninsula & Dingle Bay. Passing through the peat bogs one arrives at the sea town of Waterville.

Continue to Sneem Village, famous for its brightly coloured houses, before arriving back in Killarney. Along the Ring of Kerry stop at a local farm for a sheepdog demonstration. Your visit starts with an overview of the different breeds of sheep, followed by an introduction to the farmer’s most important tools, his border collies. Next you will see a superb demonstration of sheep herding as the farmer with his dogs demonstrate how, by working together, he can take a flock of sheep from the mountain top to the sheep pen close to the farmyard. 

OPTIONAL: Jaunting Car Ride in Killarney National Park. Enjoy transportation of a different kind! A pony and trap (also known as a Jaunting Car) helps you discover areas of Killarney National Park that you might not otherwise visit. Relax aboard a jaunting car as your Jarvey [driver] takes you through the magnificent scenery of the National Park.  

Today enjoy dinner independently in one of the many restaurants or pubs in Killarney town.

Day 4

The Burren and Cliffs of Moher

Following your included breakfast, travel northwards to Tarbert & take a short boat ride across the mouth of the River Shannon to land on Clare’s shore at Killimer. Travel along the coast to the Cliffs of Moher, the most majestic cliffs in Ireland which rise from the Atlantic Ocean & extend for over 7km. On a clear day, you can admire the Aran Islands & Connemara Mountains.

Enjoy a tour of the Burren Region. The Burren is a strange & unique region in Europe; it is a high plateau of porous limestone situated in Northern Clare. The limestone is bare, with no trees growing here or land covering the stone.

OPTIONAL: Medieval Banquet at Bunratty Castle. Bunratty Castle was built in the 15th century by the Earl of Thomond and stands on the banks of the Raite River in County Clare. The Earl was known for his generosity and his lavish entertainment and banquets. The entertainment today is provided by the superb Bunratty Singers & is a fitting compliment to the lively mead reception, a four-course meal and of course good wine. Guests are invited to enjoy an unforgettable evening in the splendour of this magnificent castle & take a true step back in time to Medieval Ireland.

Day 5

Galway City & Cruise

After breakfast we travel to Galway City & get oriented with this beautiful place which has attracted many musicians & artists. Visit Galway Cathedral, one of the largest & most impressive buildings in Galway built between 1958 & 1965.
Next enjoy a cruise along Lough Corrib including scones & an Irish coffee. This journey on the Corrib Princess takes passengers along the majestic Lough Corrib and onto the lake. Visitors will see unsurpassed views of the historic monuments & natural amenities that make this one of the most spectacular waterways in Ireland.
*Please note this cruise is not available in the low season and this activity will be replaced by a walking tour of Galway City with a local guide.

Day 6

Connemara

Today travel through the beautiful Connemara Region filled with lakes, rivers, bogs & mountains.
Visit Kylemore Abbey. Kylemore Abbey is a stunning neo-Gothic castle nestled in the heart of Connemara, County Galway, Ireland.
Next you will visit Dan O’Hara Homestead The Centre offers a unique insight into the history and heritage of this most beautiful part of Connemara and the West of Ireland. Set in the scenic Connemara landscape, the homestead includes a thatched cottage, farming tools, and heritage exhibits, providing visitors with an authentic and educational cultural experience.

Here you will enjoy tea and scones.

Day 7

Dublin City

After your included breakfast and check out from your hotel, depart Galway for Dublin today.
On arrival in Dublin, you will first explore the north side of the city which offers striking monuments such as the GPO (General Post Office) on O’Connell Street & Phoenix Park, the largest public park in Europe. The city’s south side appears more sophisticated with its vast Georgian squares & is home to Trinity College, Dublin Castle & two Anglican Cathedrals.

Visit EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. This is a state-of-the-art interactive experience located in the beautiful vaults of the 1820 Custom House Quarter building in Dublin’s Docklands, the original departure point for so many of Ireland’s emigrants. It will inspire and guide you on a journey to discover the stories of Irish emigration around the world, from early times to the modern day.   

OPTIONAL: Evening Entertainment at Taylor’s Three Rock or similar. Visit this lively pub in Rathfarnham for an excellent night of music and dance. A ballad group will regale visitors with ballads both happy and sad and will (after a few pints) have visitors singing along with them. The music is interrupted for a short while to enjoy the best of Irish Dancing guaranteed to get feet tapping. Visitors will later be sent into the night with fond memories of a memorable night in a Dublin Pub.

Day 8

Farewell

After a final Irish breakfast, transfer to Dublin Airport for your departure flight home under own arrangements.
